Adam Mitchell After living with cancer for many years, Adam’s journey has come to an end. Adam (David Alistair) Mitchell, 50 of Halifax, passed away at Hospice Halifax on December 17, 2025 surrounded by family and friends. Born May 11, 1975 Adam lived in Berwick before moving to the Aspotogan Penninsula where he spent his childhood. Even in his early years, Adam expressed a passion for Healthcare. He followed his dream and graduated from Holland College in 1997 and started his career as a Paramedic with EHS. He worked on the ambulances throughout the province and in later years Adam worked for EHS as a dispatcher in Burnside. During this time, he was actively involved with music festivals in the province. He was very passionate about the Evolve Festival in Antigonish where he was the head medic every summer for ten years. This position entailed organizing medics and ensuring participants were cared for when needed. In recent years, Adam began performing stand-up comedy in the Halifax area under his stage name Adam Alistair. His final gig was opening for Shaun Majumder last Spring. Adam’s sense of humour was one thing for which he was famous. He saw the humour in everything and especially through rough times. He was a very active member of the on-line gaming community where he was known as SnoopDabb and it was in this forum Adam continued to share his wicked sense of humour. Adam is survived by his parents, Deborah Mitchell and Paul Betuik,(Berwick) his daughter, Alexandra, (Halifax) step-sisters Rachael (Taylor) Winnipeg, Chloë (Cody) Wolfville and his beloved fur baby Archie, the Ginger cat! Adam had as a host of close friends known as Adam’s extended family Craig and Kelly (Ryerson, Annalise, Kaden), Matt, Jay, Andrew, Geoff (Serena), Stevie, Andrea, Darrah, just to name a few. Many others know who you are. Adam was predeceased by his grandparents Donelda and Lauchie Mitchell, Berwick. A special thank you to the many doctors, nurses and staff at QE2, the care givers from Closing the Gap, VON, Community Health services and the entire Palliative team who patiently looked after him at his home. Thank you to all individuals who made Adam’s life better by visiting him, making meals and bringing him treats and who sat with him sharing some laughs. We must remember the wonderful staff at Hospice Halifax who made Adam’s last weeks of life brighter. He actually told us that he was “content” being there.
