Bradley William Dunsmoor

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Bradley William Dunsmoor, who was born on December 11, 1961, in Toronto, Ontario. He was the eldest sibling to Brian, Lori-Ann, Bruce, and Robbie Dunsmoor. His parents were Jean Stata and Orval Dunsmoor. Brad attended George Brown College, where he earned his diploma and Red Seal certifications in construction. He went on to build a successful career as an owner-operator and foreman in the construction industry. In 1979, Brad married Valerie Brown, and together they made their home in Toronto. In 1983, Brad became a father for the first time to Benjamin Dunsmoor, followed by Christopher Dunsmoor in 1989 and Daniel Dunsmoor in 1991. While the marriage ended sooner than anticipated, Brad embraced the role of a single father to his three boys for several years. Ensuring they were well kept and cared for. In 1997 Brad met Joanne Hill. Through this relationship, he welcomed two more children into his life with open arms — Jessica Hill (born 1990) and Mathew Hill (born 1994). Although that relationship ended in 2014, Brad continued supporting all five children with dedication and love. Brad’s children were his entire world outside of work. He devoted himself to taking them to all their sports teams, coaching their games, and volunteering for community events for nearly 30 years. As his children grew, they blessed him with eight beautiful grandchildren: Joseph, Hunter, Allison-Rose, Daemon, Waverlee, Damian, Sebastian, and Annabelle. Just like with his own children, Brad spent his free time with his grandchildren, taking them to wrestling matches, monster truck shows, baseball and hockey games, or simply watching movies and TV together. Brad had a great love for music and traveled to see many different bands in concert, something that brought him tremendous joy. He was known for his kind and giving nature — always willing to help anyone in need, whether offering a place to stay or picking something up on his way home from work. Brad could always be counted on. Brad also had a deep love for animals. He cared deeply for his dogs, Charlie and Angel, and his cats, Princess and Icis. His compassion extended beyond his own pets — Brad was known to pull over on the road to help snapping turtles cross safely, often taking photos to commemorate the moment. Brad’s warmth, humor, and selflessness touched the lives of everyone who knew him. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all those who had the privilege of knowing him A celebration of Bradley Dunsmoor’s life will be held at a later date.
