Carol Jean Watters

Carol Jean Watters (Dobson) It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Carol Jean Watters (Dobson), in Dartmouth General Hospital, on August 10, 2022 at the age of 82. Carol was born in Halifax, June 15, 1940, to parents Merita (Simmons) and Gerard Dobson. She grew up in Halifax's North End in her family home on Cabot Street where she attended St. Stephen's Elementary and later St. Pat's High School. After high school, she went to work at her first job at the Tartan House on Barrington Street. Carol was a member of the Girl Guides as a young woman and later went on to become a Guide leader in the early 1970's with the troop at St. Stephen's parish hall. She was involved in International Training in Communication in the mid to late-1990's and was Council 5 President, ITC from 1998-1999. In her career, Carol held positions in accounts payable and later management and human resources for various companies. She worked hard and was meticulous in the work she did wherever she was employed. Carol spent many happy times of her life at her parents camp, "Many Hands", on Dauphinees Mill Lake. She loved when family and friends would gather there for holidays and celebrations. She was a wonderful cook and baker and was thoughtful, caring and generous with her time and her gifts. Carol was a creative and talented seamstress. She loved sewing and crafting and attended, as a vendor, many Christmas craft fairs in Dartmouth over the past 20 years where she sold her creations. In Life, she enjoyed a happy gathering and a good laugh. Carol was a wonderful mother who loved her family and lived for her family, right to the end of her days. She was predeceased by her faithful husband, Fred; and by her sister, Margauerite Richards (Elroy). Carol is survived by her daughter, Denyse Watters; her son, Gerard Watters; her most beloved granddaughter, Rowan Watters-Harris; her brother, Frank Dobson (Verna), and sister, Marie Knapman (Walter) and many cousins and nieces and nephews. We miss you Carol, Mom, Nanny. Rest in Peace. A celebration of Life will take place at a later date.
