Kenneth Allan Brown

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Kenneth Allan Brown (Ken/Kenny), who passed away on June 13, 2026, at the age of 59 at the QEII Hospital. Born in Halifax on March 22, 1967, Ken was the son of Tony Brown and Judith (Judy) MacKenzie. In his younger years, he attended Dartmouth vocational school for bricklaying. Not long afterward, he found his lifelong career with Black Magik Chimney Sweeps, where he worked proudly for 35 years until illness forced him to stop working a few months ago. Ken lived his life loud and proud but always made sure his heavy metal music was louder. He spent many years enjoying his motorcycle and eventually became a member of his local motorcycle club. Although his declining health led him to sell his bike, his dream was to ride again this coming summer. He loved fiercely and deeply cared for those closest to him. Ken had a laugh that was unmistakably his own, and he could never keep a fart in. He would always say, “If you gotta go, you gotta go,” and “Do what you gotta do.” His sense of humor and larger-than-life personality will be remembered by all who knew him. Left to mourn his passing are his pride and joy, his daughter Amber (George); his three beloved grandchildren, Hunter, George, and Paislee; his mother, Judy MacKenzie; his girlfriend, Kookie Slauenwhite; his brother, Mike; his sister-in-law, Jessalynn Brown; his aunts, Dorothy Stevens and Doreen Cordeiro (Rocky); as well as many cousins and close friends that turned into family over the years. Ken was predeceased by his father, Tony Brown, and his brothers, Jimmy Brown and Timmy Brown, His aunt Sharon MacKenzie, as well as his Maternal grandparents Wilbert and Marion MacKenzie and Paternal grandparents Fred and Rita Brown. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held later this summer, with details to be announced on Facebook once finalized. Light refreshments and food will be provided. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice close to your heart in Ken’s memory. The family would like to extend special thanks to the doctors and nurses at the QEII Hospital for the care and compassion they provided during the last three months of Ken’s hospital stay. The family would also like to extend a special thank you to Faith Saunders for her friendship, kindness, and unwavering support. Thank you for always being there for Ken and helping him whenever he needed it. Your care and compassion meant a great deal to him and to those who loved him Life will never be quite the same without Ken here, but we take comfort in knowing that his pain and suffering have come to an end. He was truly one of a kind and deserves to be remembered for as long as we live. May the many wonderful memories we shared with him continue to bring us comfort and laughter. Rest peacefully, Dad.
