Kyle Joseph Hosking

It is with deep sorrow and broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Kyle Joseph Hosking, on Sunday, May 3, 2026, at the age of 39. Born on February 11, 1987, he was a proud father, devoted partner, loving son and brother, and loyal friend. He grew up in Sackville, Nova Scotia, graduated from Sackville High School, and proudly represented his school as quarterback. This experience forged lifelong friendships and ignited his love of football; a passion that continued throughout his life, especially in recent years as he watched his young son, Lennox, take to the field. He was incredibly excited to not only cheer from the sidelines, but to step into the role of coach. Lennox was Kyle’s whole world. He aspired to be the best dad ever, and he excelled in that role. His unconditional love and selfless devotion to Lennox was shown everyday; Kyle was always game to throw the football, shoot hoops, or just cuddle and spend time with his favourite person. He found his perfect complement in his partner, Julia, whose quiet strength and steady presence balanced his bold and spirited nature. To their relationship, Julia brought Ava, who first taught Kyle what unconditional love between a parent and child, meant. He was so proud to watch her grow into the young woman she is today. He was an accomplished glazier for over 20 years and worked tirelessly to earn the position of Operations Manager. Summers were his favourite time of year, as baseball season ramped up and excitement mounted for wonderful memories to be made with his family and closest friends at the Pudsey cottage. He had a larger-than-life personality and left a lasting impression on anyone who was lucky enough to meet him. Kyle will be greatly missed by his partner, Julia Fitzgerald, children, Lennox Hosking and Ava Levy, parents, Karen and Blair Hosking, sister, Angela Hosking (Kyle Nicholson), niece, Freya Nicholson, parents-in-law, Valerie Morgan and Ron Jefferson, and his numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, extended in-laws, relatives, colleagues, and his friends, who were like brothers. Kyle’s friends meant the world to him, and he to them. The relationships he built with his dear friends, Wes, Erb, Brad, and Major, to name just a few, shaped who he was as a human. From poker nights, dart nights, softball tournaments, or just an evening of conversation, his best friend and brother, Alex Pudsey, was there through them all. He will be forever missed by all he touched. We are forever better for having such a friend, brother, son, partner and most of all, father, in our lives. A Celebration of Life will take place at the Lion’s Club (101 Old Beaver Bank Rd., Lower Sackville), on Friday, May 22nd, at 4pm.
