Robert (Rob) Michael Leblanc

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert ("Rob") Michael LeBlanc on October 1, 2024, at the age of 69 years, after a lengthy battle with cancer. Rob was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, to Clifford ("Cliff") Robert LeBlanc and Marjorie ("Marj") Maude LeBlanc (nee Walker). Rob lived in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia all of his life, but had a special connection to Pleasant Valley, Halifax County, where he and his family had a camp and spent a lot of their time. Rob was predeceased by his father Cliff, his mother Marj, his sister Judy LeBlanc, and his nephew Danny Burns (aka Little Danny). Rob is survived by his wife of 50 years, Wanda Kathleen (Croft) LeBlanc (also the love of his life), his daughters, Sonya Marie LeBlanc (Barrie Lunn) and Sandy Lee LeBlanc, his sister Yvonne Reid (Casey Reid), 6 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and several cousins. Rob also leaves behind two nephews and one niece whom he also considered his close friends, Jeffrey Sampson, Rob Hannah (aka "Little Rob"), and Sherry (Hannah) Hatfield. Also surviving Rob are close friends, Dwayne Walker, Rod Croft, Steven Vickery, Janice Kehoe, and Bob Kehoe, all of whom Rob held dear to his heart. Rob worked in the flooring industry for approximately 50 years, with much of his time spent with All About Floors. Rob was an avid fisherman, hunter, and gardener. Rob and his dad, both of whom were commonly referred to as Papa, continued their closeness through hunting and fishing activities. Rob enjoyed nothing more than spending time with family and friends. You would often find Rob and Wanda at their camp engaging in all that was required to keep the camp and its surrounding property whole for the betterment of their family. Their lives were inseparable. Rob knew his and Wanda's love would never end as he knew it was forever, be it in this world or the next. Rob thoroughly enjoyed teaching young children the ways of life, playing, laughing, and of course teasing them a bit. All children loved Rob, so much so that one young boy in particular, Jimmy, would knock on Rob's door and ask Wanda if Rob could go out to play with him. Rob's love and compassion for children was unending. Rob was the man you reached out to when you needed help, whether it was for moral support, a shoulder to cry on, a favour, or simply anything at all. There are not enough words in the English language to describe Rob, but the following come to mind: authentic, inspirational, affectionate, big-hearted, gentle, charming, clever, witty, astute, wise, intelligent, and loving. He was simply The Greatest husband, father, papa, son, brother, uncle, or friend you could ever have. Rob was a man of integrity, who would do anything he could for anyone, and ask for nothing in return. The world lost one of the greatest people on earth on October 1, 2024. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held in Rob's honour on November 2nd, from 1:00 to 6:00 pm, at the Hearthstone Inn, 313 Prince Albert Road, Dartmouth. A special thank you goes to the staff in the Palliative Care Units at the Dartmouth General Hospital and the Victoria General Hospital, whose compassion and care provided Rob and family with comfort. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Palliative Care Unit at the Victoria General Hospital or the Wildlife Federation of Nova Scotia.
