Wayne Robert Jackson “Bob”, 67 - Sept 2nd 1954-Aug 10th 2022 We are deeply saddened to announce the sudden passing of our father, Bob, in his home on August 10th, 2022 in Halifax. Dad was an avid Star Trek fan, and he was always doing impressions, one of his many skills, which never failed to make people laugh, especially his “Porky Pig”, and “Crusty the Clown”, his daughter Sarah’s favourite, or any of the numerous other characters or accents in his repertoire. Dad was a very kind hearted man who would do anything for anyone if they needed help, advice, or just someone to talk to. An avid photographer, he saw beauty in the simple things, and he could often be seen taking photos of ordinary things and turning them into art. Dad could answer just about any question about technology, be it how a computer worked, or how to change a head on a VCR to make it run better, proven in his ability to keep electronics from the 1970’s and 1980’s running as if they were brand new, and he never gave up his chili recipe to anyone. His love of cats carried over to both of his daughters, who have struggled to try to teach their cats how to sit, play dead, and come when called as he had done with his cat Data in the past. Dad was employed with Tim Hortons as a baker for 38 years, an achievement that he was incredibly proud of, and we would like to thank his former manager, Michelle, for everything she has done for dad in her years working with him. Dad thought very highly of you, and we are so thankful for how much you cared about him. Dad is survived by his mother, Margaret Jackson (Caithness), sister Catherine “CJ” (Peter Whiteley) Whiteley, nephews Robbie Stallard, and Christopher Irving, who was like a son to dad. Daughters Emily (Jay Bly) and Sarah (Eric Eyers) Jackson, mother of his daughters’, Lorraine (Birt), and his grandson Mason, whom he was so incredibly proud of, and was the light of his life. Along with numerous nieces, nephews, and his beautiful great-nieces, Felicity and Verity Stallard. Dad was predeceased by his father Harry Jackson, and nephew Brian-David Irving. There will be no funeral service, as per dads wishes, but a celebration of life will be held at a later date surrounded by his family and those who closest to him. Donations in dad’s name can be made out to the Nova Scotia SPCA, especially toward cat supplies, and the IWK Children’s Hospital. We love you dad, forever and always.
