Jennings, Wayne Fredrick “Bumper” It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Wayne Jennings of Montague Gold Mines – “The Mayor of Montague”. Wayne took his first breathe on June 02, 1945, and his final breath on April 13, 2025, at the Dartmouth General Hospital, at the age of 79. Wayne is survived by his sons Ronnie and Robbie (Jill), daughters Jackie (Charles) and Heather (Bryan). Granddaughters Ashley, Allison, Alex and Bailey, Grandsons Liam, Matthew, Parker, Josh, and Nick. Great Granddaughter Everly, and Great Grandsons Eli and Max. His grandkids were his everything and he was so proud of them. Wayne was survived by his sisters Linda (Joe), Kathy (late Fred Macdonald), brother Elvie (late Verna). Predeceased by sister Lois (late Rolland), brothers Scott (Colleen), Herman (Cecila), and Phillip (late Penney). Also predeceased by his best friend Ruby the bull mastiff. You never saw Wayne without Ruby. From a young age Wayne worked in the construction industry, being employed with many different companies. From driving trucks to running equipment. It was his passion and he made many lifetime friends. In later years, Wayne owned a few of his own trucks and started his own company – Wayne Jennings Trucking. Wayne was a strong and proud man. He loved pranking people and a good storyteller. A five minute story took an hour for him to tell. Wayne lived his life on his own terms. Wayne’s love, patience, strength, stubbornness, wisdom, and amazing sense of humour will live on in his family and friends forever. He was not just an amazing father, but an incredible human being. His memory will remain in all our hearts forever. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the paramedics at DGH emergency, and to the amazing staff on 5 west for their compassionate care given to Wayne in his final days. In lieu of flowers we ask that, if you can, to please donate blood in Wayne’s memory. Donor blood being available allowed Wayne more time with this family and friends to say goodbye. Wayne loved all animals, especially bull mastiffs. In his memory donations to the SPCA would be greatly appreciated. As per Wayne’s request, there will be no visitation or service. Wayne you were a kind and generous soul, and you will be greatly missed. – “Catch you on the flip side” .0
