Ronald Edward Lawson

July 18, 1937 - January 18, 2022

Born July 18, 1937 in Montreal, Quebec to parents Edith and John Lawson, Ron passed into the arms of his Lord and Saviour on January 18, 2022, at the age of 84. Survived by his loving wife of 60 years Hazel, beloved daughter Colleen (John McLaughlin), special daughter-in-law Carol Lavoie; sisters Peggy, Evelyn, Linda, Sandra, Brenda; brother David, several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by beloved son Scott (2009), parents Edith and John Lawson, brother John, sister Edith Morel, nephew Stephen Hardman and step-father Pete Trudeau. Ron joined the Royal Canadian Air Force (R.C.A.F.) at the age of 18; stationed at CFS Lac St Denis, QC (Pine Tree Line), radar/fighter control. After a long career with CTV (Montreal) as a Studio Director, Ron completed his undergraduate degree at Mount St Vincent University, continuing studies at the Atlantic School of Theology and as a student in the Master of Divinity Program - Acadia University. Former Interim Pastor, Elmsdale Baptist Church. Member Rosemere Lodge #123 (AF & AM); founding member Phil-Can Lodge #137 (AF & AM), Montreal, QC. Ron's love of music was strong and his faith unwavering. Any rendition of the hymn "How Great Thou Art" would elicit a tear. A heartfelt thank you to Dr. Figueroa-Perez for her dedicated care over the years, as well as the staff of both Dartmouth General Hospital (3 West) and Ocean View Continuing Care Centre. A special thank you is also extended to Lorna, Laura and Danielle at OVCC, for their patience, care and understanding. Private family internment at a later date.
