Aubrey Dennis Rhuland June 6, 1951 – November 7, 2024 Aubrey had a unique charm that drew people in. When he wasn’t drinking, he was the kind of person you wanted by your side — generous, funny, and endlessly kind. Those who knew him shared many laughs, sometimes at his expense, due to his unique way of doing things. You could count on him to have a stash of chocolate nearby that he would be willing to share if you needed a fix. Between his backpack and his wallet, if there was anything you needed, there was a good chance he had it on him. His love of animals, especially dogs, was shown through the pockets of any pants he wore, which were always full of treats. Aubrey was more than his struggles; he was a dedicated worker, capable of accomplishing anything he set his mind to, but only at his own slow and steady pace. Any time his phone rang, you'd be reminded of his love for Shania Twain. He was a life-long fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs, and would gladly discuss every game, a winner or not (most likely not). Christmas was a favourite time of year for him, from movies to decorating, "candies" to baked goods. He had many jobs over the years; he was a jack of all trades, a master of none, but was never afraid to tackle a new challenge. Over the years, he was a member of the Mahone Bay Fire Department, Church Boys League, and various sports teams. Aubrey has been consumed by alcohol and has left us heartbroken. Those who cherished him made every effort to assist him, regardless of his acceptance. If you or a loved one is struggling with addiction, please know a better life is always possible. Aubrey leaves behind his daughter, Nichole (Larry), granddaughter, Trinity, and siblings: Dianna (William) Hiltz, Paulette Hirtle, George (Anice), Keith (Julie), Wade, Allan (Kelly), Patricia (Tim) Foran, Pamela (David), many nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. He is now with his parents, Earl and Geraldine (Dorey), and brother-in-law Richard Hirtle. A graveside committal will take place at Hillside Cemetery in Clearland on November 30th at 1:00PM.
