Cynthia (Cindy) Eileen (Bond) Fenwick

Fenwick, Cynthia (Cindy) Eileen (Bond) of Boutiliers Point, NS. It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of our beloved Mother, Wife, Daughter, Sister, and Friend. Cindy passed away peacefully with her family at her side on December 14, 2023, at the Halifax Infirmary. Born in St. Catherine's, Ontario. She was the daughter of Phil and Dulcie Bond of LaPoile, Newfoundland. She is preceded in death by her mother Dulcie (Billard) Bond, Mother-in-Law Jenny (Hibberd) Fenwick, and both maternal and paternal grandparents. Cindy will be deeply missed by her children Gaby and Lena, and the love of her life, her soul mate, Sam. She is survived by her dad, Phil (Joan) Bond, LaPoile, Newfoundland. Her twin brother Cory (Denise) Bond, Beaverbank, NS; and her eldest brother Colin (Andrea) Bond of Boutiliers Point, NS. Her Father-in-law Peter (Jan) Fenwick, Cape St. George, Newfoundland. Her brother-in-laws, and sister-in-laws: Matthew Weems, San Francisco, USA, Miranda (Troy) Fenwick, Miramichi, NB, Michael (Rae) Fenwick, Cape St. George, Newfoundland, Catherine (Gavin) Fenwick, Cape St. George, Newfoundland, Mark (Bernice) Fenwick, NS, Chris (Carolyn) Fenwick, Hammonds Plains, NS. Her nieces and nephews: Jasper, Jake, Robin, Sofia, Roland, Jessica, AJ, Ben, Evan, Lorelea, and Olivia. Great Nieces and Nephews Adalyn, Malcolm, Spencer, Cohen, and Gabe. Cindy met the love of her life Sam at the College of The North Atlantic in 1994. Cindy didn't know about an entrance placement test, so she may or may not have peeked at Sam's. This of course can not be confirmed or denied. One of their first dates, Cindy started feeding a seagull prior to them finishing their food, so they had to go back into the car for shelter from the seagull and his 200 best friends that came to share. They lived in Ontario, Newfoundland, back to Ontario, and then finally found their forever home in Nova Scotia in 2008. In 2003, their daughter Gaby was born. Sam was told he got the first daughter for free, but if he wanted another child, he needed to get down on one knee. Christmas 2005, Sam proposed in very Sam style. No one could believe it when Cindy had her diamond on Christmas morning. Everyone said, "it's about time!" After 12 years of dating, Sam and Cindy said I do in October 2006. Sam's mom married them, and Sam's dad issued the marriage license. They said their vows at Sam's Parents Inn in Newfoundland, and as the story goes it was quite the celebration, just the way Cindy wanted. Gaby said, "Mommy's a Fenwick Now, a Fenwick now!" Thankfully, Lena was born the next year in 2007, as that is how we figure out their wedding anniversary every year. Cindy could never remember if she was married on the 6th in 2007, or if she was married on the 7th in 2006. They just celebrated 29 years together and 17 years married in October. Cindy started at NSCC in the fall of 2009, where she graduated with honours from Office Administration. From there she worked in Reproductive Care and several medical clinics at the IWK. In 2017 she was diagnosed with breast cancer which after surgery and chemo she returned to work. After her time at the IWK, she did a year contract at Dalhousie before we got the unfortunate news that her cancer had spread in 2020. During her lengthy battle, she did not let her illness slow her down, she got to see and do so much. She saw Gaby graduate from high school, Lena finish Junior high and start High School and watched Lena take her first drive down the street from the window. She went to Mexico, the Dominican, Scotland, and Portugal just to name a few of her non-Canadian adventures. She loved touring Scotland with her brother Colin, seeing a real castle was one of the items on her bucket list. Within Canada she got to go to Alberta and see Lake Louise, the Rocky Mountains and meet Joan’s family and Sam’s aunt Barbara. She took many day trips and weekend adventures. I know you didn't get to the Cabot Trail Cindy, but I promise we're going to take you there in 2024. Cindy loved her family, and her friends. She was the most generous person you could meet. She was always the first one to volunteer when you needed something. She even volunteered when you didn't know you needed something. She was truly a guardian angel here on earth to so many. Cremation has taken place, and a celebration of life will take place in the New Year. Any donations in her name can be made to the Canadian Breast Cancer Association or the Harbourfront Community Centre in Toronto (Waterfront Neighbourhood Centre (www.waterfrontnc.ca)), where Cindy worked for so many years, and had so many fond memories. We hope you're having a Bailey's in the sky and chatting up a storm with Dulcie and Jenny. Watch over our babies and keep them safe. Send us a butterfly or two, so when we see them, we'll think of you. 💜 The family would like to thank all the staff of 5.2 Halifax Infirmary ICU for all their support and Dr. Caldwell for the many years of support and treatments throughout her journey. Our warrior fought until the very end. Until we see you again Cindy! Our love goes with you, and our souls wait to join you...
