Gail Louise Brown

Brown, Gail Louise: April 25, 1952 - December 6, 2024 Passed peacefully on December 6, 2024 in her 73rd year, surrounded by love, during her favourite time of year, while lights were twinkling and carols were playing (St. Vincent's Nursing Home, Halifax Nova Scotia). Beloved Mother of Sara and Barbara, cherished sister of Richard (Joan), Edward (Catherine), and Gary (Aggie). Remembered fondly by nieces, nephews, cousins, other family, and so many friends and people who cared about her. You know who you are. We all love her. Gail was predeceased by her parents, who she loved dearly, Leonard H. Brown and Elsie Louise Brown (née Edwards). Gail will be remembered for her kindness and open heart. She was the type of person who could walk into a room of strangers and leave with nothing but friends. Her sense of humour and silliness invited everyone to laugh along with her. She loved goofballs and underdogs. Her smile, and the twinkle in her eyes are unforgettable. Gail loved people. She loved people watching, meeting people, learning their stories, and the joy of connection and comradery. What made her happiest was being with good people. From her parents she learned a reverence for nature that reflected their belief that God was everywhere. A belief that she shared. To the end, she continued to enjoy the peace and beauty of nature, in both wild spaces and gardens. Gail's faith was very important to her. Throughout her life she worked to make the world around her a better place through volunteer work, or simply by treating everyone as she would wish to be treated. While none of us will ever stop missing her and loving her, we can remember her and celebrate her through forest walks, trips to the beach, baseball games, Christmas, slapstick humour, robins in spring, roadside daisies, and moments of unabashed silliness. A memorial will be held at St. James Anglican Church in Hespeler on April 26, 2025 at 1pm (Eastern time). The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of St. Vincent's Nursing Home who treated Gail as a treasured family member until the last.
