George Arthur Anderson

Anderson, George Arthur of Pugwash passed away Feb 5th at Northwood Manor Halifax. George lived a full life in 93 years. He started working at Ferry Aviation in Halifax and then joined Canadian Marconi which sent him to St. John’s and then on to Montreal. While in Montreal he was involved with the Boy Scout Group Committee in Dollard des Ormeaux and volunteered many hours at Westpark pool and the Dollard des Ormeaux volunteer Fire Department. After Marconi he worked at Air Transit Aviation as maintenance supervisor until he joined Innotech Aviation as a completions manager as well as Avionics Supervisor. He then went on to teach Avionics at NBCC until he retired for the rst time at age 65. After a brief retirement he continued his teaching at Holland College PEI lling several years of contract work. He and his wife continued living their retirement dream in the house they built in Pugwash NS. All his adult life he was a very proud member of the Masonic Lodge. He was Master at the Royalmount Lodge in Montreal as well as Pugwash and Wallace NS. Many summers the family looked forward to the big lodge picnic at Owls Head Mountain in Quebec. He was also a member of the Shrine club in Moncton and the Scottish Rite. He moved to Northwood Manor in October of 24 and ironically he was on the 4th oor and his father had lived on the 8th oor in 1985. The sta at Northwood and particularly the group on 4th oor were nothing short of amazing! Everyone we had dealings with were very compassionate and caring, He quite often would sit in the dining room after everyone had left and have another coee or tea and nobody rushed him out. George is survived by his son George (Amanda Reynolds) two grandchildren Jack and Andrew (Montreal) and his daughter Helen (Bedford). He was very proud of his grandchildren and what they were doing. He was predeceased by his wife Constance (Tower) of 60 years and daughter Patricia Anderson (Stratford Ontario). A celebration of Life will be held at Wesley St.Matthew’s United Church, Pugwash, on Friday May 9, 2025 Special thanks to Laura and Joy and their endless smiles and encouragement. Roger Mundle who picked Dad up many times to take to church ,visiting him in Halifax and for being a friend.
