Judith Loraine Bragg

Another angel has joined a great gathering in heaven. At the age of 77, Judith (Judy) Lorraine Pinsent Bragg passed away on November 28, 2022, lovingly surrounded by her family at the QEII, in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Judy was a fun-loving, spirited, caring and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She loved nothing better to spend time with loved ones and to see people around her happy and their bellies full. She had a great sense of humour, but even bigger than her laugh was her heart. Judy was born in Buchans, Newfoundland, and traveled to Port aux Basques at the age of 16 to begin her teaching career, and met the love of her life, Art Bragg, a cute young drummer who played in the Ducats. The two were a perfect match and they started a family, Amanda, Meridith, and Quinton. Then came her precious grandchildren whom she loved with all her heart, Bailey, Coady, Lauren, Matt, Rafael, and Neve. Her eyes would light up whenever she saw and spoke of them. While raising her children, Judy found a passion for decorating cakes and making her own chocolates. Along side of her husband, they owned and managed a few small businesses in Port aux Basques, until they moved on to their beloved “The Donut Shop”. Judy was known for her warm heart and caring nature. Over the 28 years of being in business, she always put on a special lunch for everyone, and they loved her homemade Mac and Cheese, subs, and sandwiches. Judy loved spending time at their cottage in Mcdougalls, where she always welcomed family and friends anytime of the day or night. Music and Friends is the song that perfectly represents the times they were gathered at their cottage. Judy continued feeding our souls and bellies with her famous brunches, bringing all the family together. There was no crowd too small or large to host for brunch. She loved for friends and family to come sit and relax. Judy has now joined her husband in heaven, along with her mother, Amanda, her father, Adolphus Pinsent, brother Glenn, sisters-in-law Sheila (Munden), Joan (Bragg), Bette (Bragg), and Betty (Lee), brothers-in-law Gary Follow, Bill Bradley, and Herb Lee. She leaves to mourn her children, Amanda Pedro (Henry), Shelburne, Meridith Monk (Shayne), Hammonds Plains, and Quinton Bragg (Jen), Eastern Passage, her beautiful grandchildren, her best friend/roommate and brother-in-law, David Bragg, her sisters, Sandra Bradley, Hilda (Casey) Buckles, brothers Walt (Norma), Garry (Barb), and Junior (Gloria), brothers-in-law, Nathan (Junior) Bragg, Phillip Bragg, Nelson Bragg, Lorne Munden, Sisters-in-law Wanda Clevett (Ivan), Cathy Murphy (Paul), Elaine Cook (Geoff) and countless nieces, nephews, family, and close friends who all loved her dearly. Cremation has taken place under the care of Harbourside Regional Crematorium, Halifax, Nova Scotia, and a celebration of life for family and close friends will be announced later in 2023.
