KAREN LESLIE ANDREA October 2, 1962 - March 22, 2026 With great sadness we announce the passing of Karen Leslie (“Auntie”) Andrea, 63, of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. Karen was surrounded by family as her spirit left us during a gorgeous sunrise on March 22, 2026. She joins her late mother Barbara Grant Andrea. Karen was born in Montreal, QC. Our Auntie was well loved and she loved well. Auntie found great joy in spending time with children. She was a trusted and loving family babysitter. Karen was passionate about bowling and was a longtime member of various teams at the Bowlarama in Dartmouth. She was an avid participant in aquafit classes at Cole Harbour Place and before that the Dartmouth Sportsplex. She also challenged herself swimming countless laps. When Karen wasn’t at the bowling alley or pool, she could be found at home enjoying her love of arts and crafts: crocheting, colouring, tole painting, ceramics and collecting sea glass. Holiday décor gifted over the years will now be that much more precious. More recently, she gifted cherished crocheted blankets including perfect little baby blankets invaluable for use in car seats and strollers. Karen also delighted in movies, lunch or shopping excursions with her caring friend Debbie Saulnier and took special pleasure in winning on Rummoli nights. For a number of years, Karen volunteered with the Canadian Cancer Society. Karen is survived by her father and lifelong caregiver Anthony (Tony) Andrea and siblings Kathleen Richardson (Robert), Bob Andrea, and Chris Andrea (Monique) as well as her beloved nieces and nephews: Andrea Richardson, Ali Joy Richardson, Dean Mianscum, Tony Andrea, Christine Andrea and Noah Andrea plus her grand-nephew Alistair Wilkinson and grand-nieces Asoka Mianscum, Rui Mianscum and Roxy Joy Silcox. Cremation has already taken place. There will be a private interment and celebration of life.
