Kevin Edward Turnbull

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Kevin Edward Turnbull, age 66, of Mount Uniacke. Kevin was predeceased by his loving parents Charles and Donna Turnbull, and his beloved sister, Kim Turnbull and his infant sister Karen Turnbull. Kevin leaves behind the love of his life and devoted partner, Marlene, and her children, Brad (Kayla), Cara, and Taylar (Carleton), and granddaughters Emma and Olivia whom he loved dearly and was proud to call family. He is also survived by his beloved siblings, Ralph, Wendy (Jim), David, Peter, and Lisa-Jane (Blake), niece- goddaughter Faith, nieces Krissy, Chantel and nephews Dylan, Terry, Charles . Although they were his brothers and sister, David, Peter, and Lisa-Jane were like his own children. He cherished each of them deeply, always offering his love, guidance, and unwavering support. His love for his family was constant, and the bond they shared was truly special. Kevin dedicated the last 7 years of his career to the Halifax Dockyard as a crane operator, where he earned the respect of his colleagues through his hard work, skill, and dependability. Prior to joining the dockyard, he worked as a crane operator on projects in Nova Scotia, Newfoundland, British Columbia and Alberta and spent many years with Midland Transport as a long-haul truck driver, safely logging well over one million miles throughout his career, a remarkable achievement that reflected his professionalism, dedication, and pride in his work. Outside of work, Kevin's greatest passion was anything with an engine. If it had a motor, he could rebuild it. He had an incredible mechanical talent and found great joy in restoring vehicles and bringing them back to life. One of his greatest passions was stock car racing, where his love of speed and mechanics came together. He also enjoyed collecting antiques, appreciating the history, craftsmanship, and stories behind each unique piece. While Kevin was known for his remarkable mechanical abilities, those who knew him best will remember him for something even greater, his heart. He was kind, generous, and always willing to lend a helping hand. His garage was always open, and so was his heart. Whether someone needed help fixing a vehicle, a hand with a project, or simply someone to listen, Kevin was there without hesitation. Kevin also had an incredible sense of humor. He loved to laugh, tease those he cared about, and could brighten even the toughest days with his quick wit and infectious smile. He had a gift for making people feel welcome, and anyone who had the privilege of meeting him couldn't help but love him. His kindness, humility, and genuine compassion left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him. Kevin's legacy is one of love, loyalty, laughter, hard work, and generosity. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in the countless memories he leaves behind and in knowing that his spirit will live on through the lives he touched. Family and friends are invited to gather to celebrate Kevin's life at a visitation and Celebration of Life on Tuesday, July 28 from 4:00-7:00pm at the Mount Uniacke Legion. Forever loved, forever remembered, and forever missed.
