Mary Linda {linda} Drake

Drake, Mary Linda {Linda} July 12, 1953 – June 12, 2024 God needed another Angel right away, and since Mum was already fully trained and ready to hit the heavens running, he picked her. Our greatest loss, his greatest gain. A role she had been training for since July 12, 1953, and unexpectedly assumed on June 12, 2024, with her loving family proudly at her side. Mum was the daughter of Joseph{Bill} and Mildred {Gallant} Perry, and grew up happily with her sister and brothers in the Cow Bay Dyke area, which remained her “happy place” to the end. She worked from a young age to support and provide for her family, from the Rainbow Haven Canteen to Shearwater Canex, Hermes Electronics, and beyond. But her real life's work was simply to do for others. She was most happy driving older folks to medical appointments, baking for charitable causes, cooking hearty meals for anyone in need, and whatever else she could do to make someone happy. And that, quite simply, is what made her happy. Add in a dose of humility and the pure love of laughter, the good old belly bustin type, and that was the essence of our mother. In her spare time, Mum also loved family gatherings, playing cards, Buffalo Club Dances with her true love Wally, road trips to PEI with the kids and grandkids, and visits there with her cousins, aunts, and uncles. Mum is survived by her mother Mildred Perry, brother Junior{Marilyn} Perry, sister Phyllis Perry, sons Randy {Sherry} and Mark Drake, favorite daughter Tina {Trege}Wilson, grandchildren Ashley, Brittany, Nick, and Madison, and great grandchildren Peyton and Easton, all of whom she loved dearly. Left to mourn as well are her dear neices, nephews, and extended family from here to PEI, along with her good friend Joe Deyoung. Mum was predeceased by her first love and soulmate in husband Walter {Wally} William Drake, her father Joseph {Bill} Perry, and her brother Raymond Perry. Cremation has taken place, and we will lay both Mum and Dad to rest together at a later private family ceremony. We will not say good bye, but only so long, till we meet again. You were dearly loved Mum, cause you loved so dearly, and we will miss you always.
