Paul Andre Rocheleau

In loving memory of Paul André Rocheleau. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of André Rocheleau on February 2, 2024. Born in Hull, Quebec, on August 23, 1959, he was the son of the late Mary (Woodworth) and Gilbert Rocheleau and brother to Brian Rocheleau. One of André’s most memorable traits was that he was always bumping into people he knew. No matter the place, it was guaranteed that he would eventually see a familiar face, which was ultimately a testament to his outgoing and kind personality. André spent 30 years as a dedicated NSLC employee. In his off time, nothing could stop him from a good ole Tim’s run, not even an East Coast storm or a Nova Scotia power outage. Nor was a night ever fully complete if it did not involve consuming nearly an entire tub of ice cream. After retiring, one never needed to travel far to find André as he could often be spotted walking his best friend Piper around the neighbourhood. When not on neighbourhood watch, André could be found in the recliner, staking his claim as King of the TV remote and watching his favourite game shows, or sitting at the dining room table on the hunt for that winning scratch ticket. Even in his final days, he was determined to win that 30 million for his family. While André loved many things, he loved his girls, Lorraine, Andrea, and Katieann, more than anything else. After meeting at The Palace and spending the night talking and playing backgammon, André married the love of his life, Lorraine, on May 12, 1990. Lorraine and André spent 40 years together building a life full of laughter and a home that welcomed all friends and family. Being a father was one of Andre’s greatest achievements; nothing made him more proud than hearing about their accomplishments and watching them become the strong women they are today. His daughters were his pride and joy; he would do anything for them. The way André’s face lit up when he spoke about Andrea and Katieann is something that his friends and family will forever cherish. Another momentous part of André’s life was becoming a grandfather. His love was endless for Jackson and Arianna, he was always eager for their summer visits to show them off to any and everyone. André wanted his girls to know he would forever be watching over them. The family extends gratitude to the staff of 4 West at the Dartmouth General Hospital for their care and kindness during Andre’s final days. André’s memory will live on though his wife, Lorraine; his daughters, Andrea (Paul) and Katieann (Lucas); his grandchildren, Jackson and Arianna; and many friends and family members. He will be missed dearly. Cremation has taken place at Harbourside Crematorium, and a celebration of life will be held in the Summer of 2024. In lieu of flowers, donations in André’s name can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
