Richard Eric Boudreau

Richard Eric Boudreau, age 78, of Bedford, Nova Scotia, passed away peacefully on January 24, 2026, following a courageous six-year journey with cancer. Born on August 8, 1947, in Moncton, he was the eldest child of the late Emile and Rita Boudreau. Richard attended Moncton High School and later studied commerce at l’Université de Moncton. He began a long and successful career in sales with Kraft Foods, a role that set the foundation for a lifetime of professional achievement. Over the years, he embraced new challenges across a variety of industries before eventually venturing out on his own. An entrepreneur at heart, Richard was never happier than when discussing business ideas or planning his next endeavor. This passion remained evident even in his final weeks at Hospice Halifax, where he continued to think of ways to raise funds for the hospice. He worked until his illness in January 2020, and his unmatched work ethic ensured the comfort and security of his family. In his younger years, Richard enjoyed playing hockey and curling. He was an avid sports fan and could often be found watching a wide range of games on television, as well as following politics and world events with great interest. On weekends, he enjoyed meticulously cleaning his vehicle, going for a drive or watching a race. A lifelong member of the United Commercial Travelers, Richard was particularly dedicated to supporting charities for Down syndrome and the Special Olympics. Richard was predeceased by his parents and his brother, Donald, his parents-in-law George and Louise Tracey and his brother-in-laws Greg Tracey and Jeff Tracey. He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Heather (née Tracey); his children, Tina Boudreau (Steve Tremblay), Evan Boudreau (Jenn Asprey), and Adam Boudreau (Beth); and his cherished grandchildren, Nathan Tremblay and Brynna Boudreau. He is also survived by his siblings, Ronald Boudreau (Cheryl) and Susan Boudreau and his sister-in-law Susan Morrissey. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Hospice Halifax for the exceptional care, compassion, and respect shown to Richard during his final weeks. Knowing of the smiles he wore in his last moments brought great comfort to all who loved him. In keeping with Richard’s wishes, no funeral service will be held. Donations in his memory may be made to Hospice Halifax.
