In Loving Memory of Ronald David Burd November 8, 1973 – October 26, 2025 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ronald David Burd, who passed away peacefully with his family by his side on October 26, 2025, at the QEII Medical Science Health Centre in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Ron was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose greatest joy in life was spending time with his loved ones. He is survived by his loving wife, April Adams, and their four children — Samantha Burd (children Jasmine, Amelya, and Raelynn), Alexis Burd (children Jaxson, Emmette, Skylar, and Lincoln), Megan Burd, and Tyler Burd. As well as their significant others. He is also lovingly remembered by his three children from a previous relationship — Eden, Jordan, and Crystal — along with their families and his many grandchildren, who adored their Papa dearly. Ron is survived by his younger brother, Shane Burd, and Shane’s wife Christie, as well as their daughters Desirae (children Michael and Mason) and Sara. He is also survived by his little sister, Kim Burd, and her son John, all of whom he cared for deeply. Ron shared a special sibling bond with April’s sister, Kathy, spouse, Don, who were not only family but also his closest friend. When Ron became hospitalized, Kathy made the long journey from Ontario, and her son Brandon travelled from Saskatchewan to be by his side — a true testament to the deep love and bond they shared. Ron also held a special place in his heart for Kathy’s children, Brandon, partner Sam (child Michael) and Amanda (daughters Ava and Ivy), loving them like his own. He is lovingly remembered by his in-laws, Kay and Albert Adams, with whom he shared a strong parental bond, and by the entire extended Adams family, including many nieces and nephews who will always hold fond memories of “Uncle Ron.” Ron was predeceased by his mother, Carol Collard, in December 2023, and his father, who passed when Ron was a teen. He remained close to his Uncle Gary, who continues to be a cherished part of the family, and will be remembered alongside his Uncle Brian, who passed years ago. He leaves behind many cousins and countless friends whose lives were brightened by his humour, warmth, and kindness. When Ron became a grandfather, his world changed. He left behind his party lifestyle and devoted himself fully to his family. He found pure joy in watching his grandchildren grow — teaching them to count, learn their ABCs, and reading their favourite storybooks, always using his imagination to bring each page to life. His grandkids were his best buds and princesses; he truly lived to see them grow. Ron loved the simple joys of life — fishing on a quiet day, turning up his favourite music, and spending time with his best friend and soulmate, April. He will be remembered for his big heart, his strength, his laughter, and the unconditional love he gave so freely. A Celebration of Life will be held in Ontario at a later date, where family and friends will come together to share memories and honour the beautiful life Ron lived. Details will be announced once arrangements are finalized. Ron will be forever missed, but his love, laughter, and lessons will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.
